FAQ

IT services questions — answered honestly.

Everything Sydney and NSW businesses ask us about managed IT, cyber security, cloud and development — before they become clients.

Managed IT

What is managed IT and how is it different from break-fix IT support?

Break-fix IT support means you call someone when something breaks and pay hourly. Managed IT is a proactive monthly service — we monitor your systems 24/7, fix problems before they affect your team, handle patching and security automatically, and provide unlimited support. Managed IT is almost always cheaper and more reliable once you factor in downtime and emergency contractor rates.

How much does managed IT cost for a Sydney business?

For a genuine all-inclusive service — 24/7 Australian support, proactive monitoring, cyber security, and cloud management — expect $110–$160 per user per month for a 20–50 person Sydney business. Prices below $80/user almost always mean offshore support, business-hours-only coverage, or significant exclusions.

What is included in your managed IT service?

Unlimited support requests, 24/7 monitoring of all managed devices, operating system and application patching, endpoint detection and response (EDR), Microsoft 365 and cloud platform management, backup monitoring and restore testing, network and router management, and quarterly business reviews. All at a fixed monthly price with no per-incident fees.

How long does it take to onboard a Sydney business onto managed IT?

Most businesses are fully onboarded within two to four weeks. We manage the transition from your current provider, document your environment, and deploy monitoring and security tooling with minimal disruption to your team.

Do you offer managed IT for small businesses in Sydney?

Yes. We work with businesses from 5 staff upward. Fixed per-user pricing means a 10-person business gets the same quality of service and the same SLAs as a 200-person enterprise — just at a smaller total cost.

Do you provide on-site IT support across Sydney?

Yes. On-site support is included across Greater Sydney — CBD, North Shore, Parramatta, Western Sydney, Eastern Suburbs, Inner West, Northern Beaches, Sutherland Shire and surrounding areas.

Can you manage IT across multiple Sydney office locations?

Yes. Multi-site managed IT is standard. Multiple offices across Sydney, remote workers, interstate locations and international teams are all managed under one service at one monthly price.

What happens if my IT provider is offshore or hard to reach?

Switch to Logical Systems. We handle transitions from incumbent providers regularly — including offshore or unresponsive providers. We take over documentation, tooling and support with a structured handover so your team experiences no gap in service.

Cyber Security

What cyber security services do you provide for Sydney businesses?

Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Essential Eight implementation, endpoint detection and response (EDR), email security, penetration testing, vulnerability management, security awareness training, and incident response planning.

What is the Essential Eight and does my Sydney business need it?

The Essential Eight is the Australian Cyber Security Centre's baseline framework — eight controls that protect against the most common attack types. It is mandatory for Commonwealth agencies and increasingly required for government contracts, enterprise supply chains, and cyber insurance. Most Sydney businesses should achieve at minimum Maturity Level 1.

How do you protect Sydney businesses from ransomware?

Through layered controls: endpoint detection and response that catches ransomware before it executes, application patching to close known entry points, email filtering to block phishing, immutable offsite backups for recovery, and tested incident response plans. No protection is absolute — but our clients recover faster and with far less damage when incidents occur.

Do you offer cyber security without a full managed IT contract?

Yes. Managed security services (MDR, EDR, Essential Eight) are available as standalone services for businesses with existing IT providers who want dedicated security coverage.

How do I know if my Sydney business has been breached?

Many breaches go undetected for months without proper monitoring. Signs include slow systems with no explanation, unexpected password reset emails, unusual account activity, or strange network traffic. If you suspect a breach, contact us immediately for an incident assessment.

Cloud Services

Do you manage Microsoft 365 for Sydney businesses?

Yes. Microsoft 365 administration — licensing, user management, security configuration, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, Intune and Azure AD — is included in our managed IT service and available as a standalone service.

Can you migrate our Sydney business to the cloud?

Yes. We manage cloud migrations to Azure, AWS and Microsoft 365 — from initial discovery and cost modelling through to cutover and post-migration optimisation. We deploy to Australian regions by default for data sovereignty compliance.

Do you manage AWS and Azure for Sydney businesses?

Yes. Cloud platform management — including cost optimisation, security configuration, patching, monitoring and architecture review — is available for AWS, Azure and GCP environments.

What is data sovereignty and does it apply to my Sydney business?

Data sovereignty refers to requirements that your data be stored and processed within Australia. It applies to government contractors, healthcare businesses under My Health Records Act, financial services under APRA, and any business with enterprise clients who specify it. We deploy cloud workloads to Australian-region data centres by default.

SaaS & Development

Can Logical Systems build a SaaS product for my Australian business?

Yes. We build SaaS products from MVP through to production — full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, security, DevOps, and ongoing product development. Australian team, no offshore handoffs.

Do you build websites and web applications in Sydney?

Yes. We build marketing websites, web applications, client portals, and SaaS platforms — using modern stacks (Next.js, React, Node, Python) deployed on cloud infrastructure with DevOps pipelines from day one.

Can you take over development of an existing product?

Yes. We conduct a technical assessment, document what we find, and take over development with a structured handover. We regularly onboard projects from offshore development teams or solo developers who have left the business.
